Staying safe at Halloween!
It's coming up to that time of year again! Halloween is just around the corner. It is a very exciting time of year for young boys and girls, but it can also be quite scary. Below you will find some tips on staying safe with your families over Halloween! Please take the time to read them.
TIPS FOR A SAFE HALLOWEEN
Stay together as a family as you go on “trick or treat” visits, parties and
events. Make sure your parents know where you will be going trick or treating if you are old enough to go on your own.
If children dress up in dark clothes, add reflective material so that they can be
clearly seen by motorists and cyclists
Only fire resistant materials should be used for costumes
Keep dangerous substances such as oil, petrol and diesel away from fires or
Parents, businesses and householders – Do not provide any materials for
Do not buy, use or supply fireworks
Keep pets indoors on Halloween night
If you are visiting a local bonfire, make sure you are with a responsible adult. Make sure you stay well back from the bonfire. Act in a safe and caring manner at all times.
Visit your neighbours that may live on their own, or may be elderly, and check that they are ok.
