We can make a difference
"Live today the way you want to be remembered tomorrow"
Dillon Burroughs, American author
That is the life lesson we try to share with the boys of our school on a daily basis. They are reminded that they are never too young to make a difference. Saying hello, sharing a smile and being kind and friendly can make all the difference to someone else.
Then there are days when we go beyond those small gestures and our ability to change peoples' lives goes beyond the doors of our school. That happeened last Friday, and always happens around this time of year. The boys of our small, wonderful school created 17 food hampers and raised over €600 for St. Vincent de Paul. I think this is an incredible achievement, and shows the boys how easy it is to make a small difference in someone else's life.
We want our pupils to live their lives, being kind and caring, sharing with others what they can of their time and friendship and talents. If we can live like that today, then tomorrow will be a lot easier. Kindness costs nothing, but means everything.
